Prototype 2 is an open-world action video game made by Radical Entertainment and Activision Blizzard. It’s about James Heller, a US Marine, who returns to his home of New York to discover that his wife and daughter have been killed in an outbreak of a deadly virus. Heller absorbs some of this virus and mutates into a superhuman killing machine. Using his new powers, Heller seeks vengeance for his dead family and investigates the cause of the viral outbreak.

Though I wasn’t around to write the story, I worked on the project from 2011-2012 as their Senior Story Designer and wrote about 20k words of in-game mission dialogue. I managed a team of three writers and spent a tonne of effort improving the studio’s story process and workflow. I also rewrote a handful of the cutscenes (which look amazing).
